#FeastOfAshes Ultimate Blog Tour

A huge thank you to The Write Reads and Neem Tree Press for my spot and ebook copy of Victoria Williamsons new YA. It came out on 5th October.

We are big Victoria Williamson fans in this house and I’ve been privaliged to be part of some of her previous blog tours for her masterful Middle Grade books. I wondered how a YA would be…

The Blurb :

The Earth’s ecosystems have collapsed and only ashes remain. Is one girl’s courage enough to keep hope alive in the wastelands?

It’s the year 2123, and sixteen-year-old Adina has just accidentally killed fourteen thousand seven hundred and fifty-six people. Raised in the eco-bubble of Eden Five, Adina has always believed that the Amonston Corporation’s giant greenhouse would keep her safe forever.

But when her own careless mistake leads to an explosion that incinerates Eden Five, she and a small group of survivors must brave the barren wastelands outside the ruined Dome to reach the Sanctuary before their biofilters give out and their DNA threatens to mutate in the toxic air.

They soon discover that the outside isn’t as deserted as they were made to believe, and the truth is unearthed on their dangerous expedition. As time runs out, Adina must tackle her guilty conscience and find the courage to get everyone to safety. Will she make it alive, or will the Nomalies get to her first?

My thoughts:

Congratulations Victoria on your first YA. I adore dark and dystopian and this ticks these boxes plus the maps ๐Ÿ‘Œ maps are a weak spot of mine in books and I love the Dome one’s. Feast of Ashes is a lot darker and characters sharper than this authors previous reads though you do get hints of the twisty in a Pawnshop of Stolen Dreams.

The world building in this is superb and very descriptive. It’s set in Africa which I’ve not seen before in dystopian novels and is so brilliant to have here for the representation and to build up knowledge of the that culture.

I won’t ruin it but the ending of Feast of Ashes was hard but hopeful.

I note that this is book 1 of a trilogy and boy am I excited for the rest.

You know what I’m going to this already don’t you….. Yep it’s another ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ knockout for Victoria Williamson.
