#TheExiled Ultimate Blog Tour

Here is part two of my blog review for this excellent duology. Sarah Daniels does not dissapoint in book two. The tension is still set high.

A big thank you to @The_WriteReads and Penguin for my copy and blog tour spot. And Noly your banners are superb as ever.

Esther Crossland is a wanted criminal. Four months ago she destroyed the cruise ship Arcadia in a desperate bid for freedom.

Now it’s inhabitants are in exile on the edge of what used to be the United States – living in sprawling make shift shelters.

Esther is trapped and fellow rebel Nik Lall is miles away, in hiding. Neither want to admit their true feelings about each other.

But when the camp is faces annihilation from the ruthless Admiral Janek, the pair suddenly find themselves in a deadly game of power.

It’s time for the final showdown!

Here are my copies looking so good next to each other.

My thoughts:

The Exiled is once again broken down into small chapters from the different perspectives of the main characters. Esther and Nik from the last book and now Meg (who we do meet in book one but don’t know her name yet) and the new evil that is Janek. It keeps the book pacy and helps rise tension.

I liked how the relationship between Nik and Esther is further explored and the grief they are both going through is never hidden away as it might have been in other books.

The world building is rich and descriptive as we get to see what life is like on land instead of on the sea in the Arcadia boat in book one.

The ending is rounded off nicely with hope for the refugees of the Virus, and of course for our rebels Nik and Esther.

I still think some of the scenes are a little bit too graphic for the age group but might just be me. For adults reading YA I’m sure would be fine with them.

I’ll look forward to seeing if Sarah Daniels does any further books.
