#The Stranded Ultimate Blog Tour

I was so excited to be given a slot on this Ultimate Blog tour for Sarah Daniels Dystopian Debut (try saying that fast πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…

A massive thank you to The Write Reads and Penguin for my slot and copy. The books have very atmospheric covers, that instantly attracted the attention of my 12 year old Little Reader.

I’ve not read many dystopian books but they are becoming a favourite.

Blurb:

Welcome to Arcadia

Once a luxurious cruise ship, it is now home to the Stranded. For 40 years they have lived and died, on the water.

A place of extreme haves and have nots, gangs and make shift shelters, it’s people are tyrannized by a country they can see but can’t get to. A country that doesn’t want them.

Esther is a loyal citizen, working flat out for a chance to live a life on land. Nik is a rebel, intent on a dangerous strategy to liberate the Arcadia once and for all.

Together they will change the future…..

My thoughts:

First of all be still my heart. I absolutely love a map in a book and The Stranded doesn’t disappoint. You get a schematic of The Arcadia which helped me picture the action. The other half of this massive ship is on the back cover.

The chapters themselves are quite short which gives the book a pacy feel right from the start to the pulse racing cliffhanger. You get a chapter from each of the main characters which is interesting and a good way of getting a backstory for all. I liked they way they were interlinked in each others stories. This information is fed to you throughout the book.

I think my favourite character is Nik at the moment though the utter horror that is Hadley comes in a very close second. Hadley is such a villian. The one you love to hate. Though some of his scenes are a little stomach clenching for it’s young audience in my opinion.

I’m very excited to let you know what I think of The Exiled later on. The Exiled is the last book in this duology.

I’m giving The Stranded a solid 🌟🌟🌟🌟
